Nueva Gorgona is a quiet small town with the main occupation of fishing. Stroll down the beach at the right time and you can buy fresh fish off the boats. Several mini-supermarkets and fruit stands are scattered around town, and only a block away is the popular La Ruina Restaurant. Ten minutes away is the bustling town of Coronado with all the amenities and services you would need. In the modern shopping plazas can be found 4 major supermarkets, 2 large hardware stores, beauty salons, electronic shops, medical, dental, and veterinarian clinics, and much more. Many fast food and fine restaurants are also located in and around Coronado. The popular tourist mountain town of El Valle is only about 40 minutes away, and national parks are nearby.
